Copps Trip Wed 12/29/10

Copps Trip Wed. 12/29 $10.53 (+tax) (85% OFF!)
(not including $25 in gift cards shown above)

Great 85% OFF Copps Trip Today!  I did this in three transactions & used the purchase of gift cards to bring each transaction's reg price total up above $25.  I most often buy Subway gift cards or Copps gift cards to do this.  This time, I even used one of the Copps gift cards I had just purchased in a subsequent transaction!  Now, I wish I had used the other $10 Copps gift card today, too...if I had, my total today would have been $0.53 + tax!  There were a couple of other things that didn't go as well as they could have with this trip today (see below)...but I'm continuing to learn & grow...& there's always room for improvement, right? :-)

Here's how I did this:
("mc" = manufacturer's coupon, "OOP" = out of pocket):

Transaction #1:
5-boxes of Kellogg's Cereal, $1.99 each (when you buy 5)
+ $3.80 in manufacturer's coupons, doubled (search "Kelloggs" in the database at the bottom of the blog page...many are $0.70/1!)
= $0.77 each!  Unfortunately, as it turns out, one of the cereals I purchased (the Corn Flakes Cinnamon) wasn't part of this promotion.  So, I didn't get these for the $1.99 each sale price, like I was expecting.  :-(.  (but, I'm still pretty happy with paying $0.77 each!)
1-$15 Subway gift card
= $15
Subtotal: $18.85
~Used $5 Copps Jingle Bucks Gift Card
Total OOP = $13.85

Transaction #2:
3-Febreze Air Effects, $2.50
+ two $1/1 mc, doubled
+ one $0.75/1 mc, doubled
= $1.33 each (would have been $0.50 each if I had three $1/1 mc's)
1-Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (4 pack), $2.00
+ one $1/1 mc, doubled
= FREE! :-)
Ortega Taco Seasoning, $0.66 each
+ $1/2 mc, doubled
= FREE! :-)
1-$15 Copps Gift Card
= $15
Total OOP = $16.32 + tax

Transaction #3:
1-Silk soy milk 1/2 gallon, $3.39
+ $1/1 mc, doubled
= $1.39
1-8th Continent soy milk, 1/2 gallon, $2.99
+ $1/1 mc, doubled
= $0.99
1-$10 Copps Gift Card
= $10
2- Tide 2X He Laundry Detergent, $5.99
+ two $1/1 mc, doubled
= $3.99 each
Subtotal: $20.36
~used $15 Copps Gift Card from Transaction #2
Total OOP= $5.36 + tax

Total (all three transactions):
RETAIL:  $93.73 - $25 as gift cards = $68.73
SUBTOTAL after coupons & sales:  $55.53
Gift Cards Used:  $15 (from Transaction #2) + $5 (from Jingle Bucks earned)
TOTAL Spent:  $35.53 - came away with 2 gift cards worth $25 (shown above) = $10.53 (+tax)
Total SAVED:  $58.20 (85%)
