ALDI Trip 3/24/11...$10.55!

ALDI Trip 03/24/11...$10.55!
I made a trip to ALDI this morning to be sure I got a chance to snatch up some of the great produce deals they have this week!  So glad to have some more fruit on hand now.  I did find, however, that the $0.99/lb. strawberries they had at Madison's East Side store were not good (most looked bruised and/or moldy...ew!).  So, I decided to grab the strawberries at nearby Hy-Vee (for $1.18/lb.) insteadInterestingly, the cantaloupe at ALDI for $0.99 each looked a whole lot better than the $2.50 cantaloupe at Hy-Vee.  ALDI may even get a new shipment of strawberries in later in the week that could be fantastic!  You just never know... (UPDATE: The strawberries at ALDI were looking a whole lot better the next day.  See 3/25 Aldi Trip HERE.)

Here's what I chose to buy today:
2-Skim milk, 1 gallon, $2.09 each
1-Cantaloupe, $0.99 each
1-Flour tortillas, $0.99
1-Navel Oranges, 4 lb. bag, $0.99!
1-Lovin' Fresh Split Top Wheat Bread, $0.99!
1-Pineapple, $0.99!
1-Bunch bananas, $0.39/lb.
1-Yellow mustard, $0.69
Total: $10.55!

  1. I'm also enjoying the great deals on fruit at my Aldi in Nashville. You can't beat .99 cent strawberries and cantaloupe. I'm glad to see more bloggers highlighting Aldi's great prices. Even though I use coupons, Aldi is my go to store for milk and produce.

  2. Hi Nashville Cheapster!

    Thanks for stopping by!

I agree! I've been really pleasantly surprised with the quality and value of ALDI produce...and I almost always get a gallon or two of milk at ALDI each week! :-)
