Hy-Vee Deals Week of 3/27/11 - 4/2/11!

Hy-Vee will be having a special 2-Day Sale Friday 4/1 and Saturday 4/2.  So, I've indicated which items below apply only those two days. To learn more about shopping & saving at Hy-Vee, see: Store Tips & Policies: Grocery Stores

Here are the deals that caught my eye this week (3/27- 4/2, 2011):

Produce
Red Ripe Strawberries, 2 lb. package, $2.18 2-Day Sale
= $2.18 ($1.09/lb.) ~through Tuesday 3/29 of this week UPDATE: through Tuesday 4/5, you can get strawberries for $0.99/lb. at ALDI

Jumbo Princess Green Seedless Grapes, $1.28/lb.
= $1.28/lb. ~ideally, I'd like to pay no more than $0.99/lb. for grapes but this is still pretty good.

Grimmway Farms Baby Carrots, 2 lb., $1.88
= $1.88 ($0.94/lb.)

Monterey Baby Bella Mushrooms, whole or sliced, 8 oz. pkg. $1.68
= $1.68 ~I think this is an ok price for the "bella" variety but I haven't been pricing these out recently, so I'm not sure.

~Also see "Tangled DVD" $5 off fresh produce deal in Misc. section below.

Meat
Hy-Vee 100% Natural Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast, $1.88/lb. 2-Day Sale
= $1.88/lb.

Hy-Vee 100% Natural Whole Chicken, $0.79/lb.
= $0.79/lb.

Refrigerated
Hy-Vee Orange Juice, from concentrate, regular or with calcium, 64 oz., $1.28 2-Day Sale
= $1.28 ~this is an o.k. sale price but this OJ often goes down to $0.99 at Hy-Vee.  You can also still get the $1/1 Minute Maid OJ facebook coupon (& double it at Copps on Wednesday) to get the same amount of OJ for $0.50!

Kraft Shredded Cheese, select varieties, 8 or 9.6 oz., $1.25 each 2-Day Sale
or + use $1/2 Kraft Natural Shredded Cheese 3/13/2011 SS Insert (exp 4/24/2011)
or + use $1/2 Kraft Natural Shredded Cheese with a Touch of Philly 3/13/2011 SS Insert (exp 4/24/2011) (if included in sale)
= $0.75 each!

General Grocery
Kellogg's Cereal, corn flakes 12 0z., Rice Krispies 9 oz. or select varieties, 8.7 to 12 oz., $1.38 each (limit 5) 2-Day Sale
+ search the coupon database at the bottom of the blog for "Kelloggs Cereal" coupons
= price varies but could bring your cost down under $1.00/box quite easily! ~I don't like to pay any more than $1.00 for a box of cereal  ~ I also received an informative catalina at Copps recently which stated "Buy any three or more Kellogg's cereals (8.7 oz or larger, any flavor, mix or match) between 3/27 and 4/13 and get one gallon of free milk (up to $3.59, any brand, any flavor) on a future order with coupon.  I think this catalina was from the manufacturer (so I think it will work at Hy-Vee too)...but, I can't be 100% sure.

Post Cereal, Fruity Pebbles, 11 oz., Raisin Bran, 20 oz., or select varieties, 6.2 to 14.75 oz., $1.88
+ use $1/1 Honey Bunches of Oats Raisin Medley, exp. 4-10 (SS 02/27/11) (if included in sale)
= $0.88

Powerade or Powerade Zero, select varieties, 32 fl. oz. $1.00 each
+ use in ad coupon to receive 5 more free (when you buy 10)
= $0.66 each when you buy fifteen

Hy-Vee Pretzels, select varieties, 10 to 15 oz., $0.99
= $0.99 each

Frozen
Hy-Vee Sherbet, select varieties, 1.75 quart, $0.99 2-Day Sale
= $0.99 ~ad states "we reserve the right to limit quantities", so if you want this, you might want to get there earlier during the 2-Day sale rather than later.

Hy-Vee Thin Crust Pizza, select varieties, 15 to 18 oz. $2.00 each
= $2.00 each

Household
Snuggle Fabric Softener, select varieties, 32 fl. oz., $3.19
= $2.19

Hefty OneZip Storage or Freezer Bags, select varieties, 12 to 22 ct., $1.50 each
+ use $1/2 Hefty One Zip Packages, exp. 5-31-11 (RP 02/20/11)
= $1.00 each!

Pets
Midwest Country Fare Dog Food, chunk or bite size, 18 lb., $5.88
= $5.88

Misc.
Disney Tangled DVD, $19.99
+ use in ad coupon to get $5 off any fresh produce
+ send in for $5 rebate (requires Cost Cutter's haircut + Tangled DVD purchase)
= $9.99 after coupon & rebate (if someone in your family (adult or child) is going to be getting a haircut at Cost Cutters) ~watch for cost cutters coupons in your Sunday paper and elsewhere, too.
