NEW: Monthly Grocery Tally! I Need Your Help!

OK.  In my recent post, "How LOW can we GO???", I stated that my new personal goal is to spend just $200/mo. (~$50/week) on groceries for our family of five.  So, to help keep me on track, I've set up a "Monthly Grocery Tally", which you'll see on the right hand side of the blog.  The tally will include amounts spent and saved as well as my remaining monthly balance.  I'll provide links to any related "shopping trip" posts there as well.

"Groceries" will include basically all items that could be purchased in a grocery store:  food, toilet paper, kleenex, shampoo, razors, laundry & cleaning supplies, etc. (tax included).

To be honest, I'm really not so sure I'm going to make it!  This $200 set point is quite a squeeze for us...so, we'll see.  It's likely we'll over-shoot a bit.  Any words of encouragement (in the comment section below this post and/or others) would be soooo very much appreciated! :-) Donna.

  1. You can do it!!!!

Stockpiling, working the pharmacy deals (Wags, CVS) and meal planning are the secrets.

We do only $100 a month for our family of three AND a cat and dog...from food to personal care items.

  3. So glad to have found your blog - I've been following Pocket Your Dollars for Copp's matchups, but it's great to find a blog that's more local (I live in Sun Prairie)!!

Good luck on your $200/month budget! I've cut our budget down a lot as well couponing for the past year, but I know I can still do better and this is an encouragment.
