Quick & Fun Walgreens Run 5/29/11 $3.20...88% OFF!

Walgreens Trip 5/29/11 $3.20...88% OFF!

I made a call into my local Walgreens this morning to be sure they had the Ritz Crackerfuls in stock.  They said they did, so I made a quick trip in.  I was glad to grab a few other items, too...& used the register rewards I received when buying the Ritz in order to pay for some of these other items.  For these & more Walgreens Deals available yet this week, see my earlier post:  Walgreens Deals Week of 5/29/11 - 6/4/11! For more about shopping & saving at Walgreens, see: Store Tips & Policies: Drugstores

Here's what I chose to buy today (in four transactions):

Transaction #1- #3 (all three were identical):
Ritz Crackerfuls, $2.00
~buy one and receive $2 RR
+ used $1/1 coupon
= $1.00

Total Spent: $1.00 each transaction + received $2 RR with each

Transaction #4:
3-Lindsay Olives, $0.99
+ used in ad coupon to get sale price
= $0.99 each

1-Coke 2 Liter, $1.25
~Normally, I don't like to pay this much, but I had forgotten to buy my husband some regular (non-diet) soda at Copps yesterday & was feeling guilty.
= $1.25

2-Reynolds Aluminum Foil, 70 ft, $1.99
+ used two $1/1 manufacturer's coupons
= $0.99 each

~Used the three $2 RR (total $6) from transaction #1

Total Spent: $0.20 + tax = $0.49

Grand Totals this Trip:
Total Spent: $3.20 + tax = $3.49 to subtract from my $200/mo. grocery budget
Total Saved: $23.24 (88% OFF!) :-)

  1. What a fun trip it was to Walgreens!! I was so bummed to discover that two of my $4 colgate register rewards expired last week. Then, I discovered that Cub Foods accepts register rewards for up to 90 days AFTER the expiration date!!! Made my trip to Walgreens EVEN better! So now you can get things for free (!!) and then take your register rewards and buy something healthy with it. --I called the Cub Foods on Mineral Point to double check their coupon policy and they said they do accept RR's. Thanks for this post!
